Details
An Important and Rare Wristwatch from Hamilton, world-renowned builder of the finest American timepieces. The Hamilton 'Barton' is one of the most sought after of Hamilton wristwatches. This rare Barton was manufactured circa 1940's and is made of solid 14K yellow gold. It is a very desirable and collectable 14K solid gold Art Deco model, in excellent overall condition, having been just fully restored. The case is larger than usual for the period, with gorgeous hooded lugs.
I was fortunate to acquire this gorgeous watch in such superb condition. The solid 14K gold case with elegant lug design is in excellent condition with less than expected for age scratches, the attractive original dial was just professionally restored to perfection, and the high-grade movement is pristine, maintaining a nearly new state, having just been fully overhauled. It was also fitted with new crystal.
Hamilton is synonymous with sophistication, style, and quality. Impervious to the hands of time, a Hamilton watch is made to last. The secret is timeless style. At the beginning of modern American watchmaking is Hamilton, once referred to as the “American Patek.”.
Hamilton's distinctive styling and presentation is often imitated, but there is only one Hamilton and no substitute.
This rare and important watch is unique above all others of its era in that it is fitted with possibly Hamilton’s best movement, the 982M. This very early example has a solid gold 'medallion' in the plate to differentiate it from the standard 982.
The solid and very rare14K gold case and band along with all of the original boxes with matching serial numbers (case and movement) is what makes this watch truly unique and very special. One of Hamilton's most desirable men’s wristwatches, the 'Barton' has very elegant dimensions to it. This triple-signed Hamilton, with its classic, elegant lug design, is in excellent condition and is simply superb, measuring 24mm x 40mm . The professionally restored dial of this watch is beautiful and has applied gold hour/minutes and hands. The high-grade 982M movement is pristine, maintaining a nearly new state. The crystal is perfect, having just been replaced. It is ready to admire, wear and enjoy for many more years to come.
The case has curved ends and semi hooded lugs. The case is larger than normal for the period, measuring approximately 24mm across, excluding the crown and 40 mm from lug to lug. There is a presentation engraving on the rear cover: 'The Love of My Life. Terry'.
Fitted with n era-specific solid 14K gold watch band by Kreisler. Overall length of watch and band is is 7.5 inches long end-to-end.
Many of these pieces are no longer in existence having been melted for their gold or are tucked away in private collections, rarely to be seen by the public. Triple-signed Hamilton vintage watches like this one consistently increase in value through the years. As such, they are an investment which can be worn and enjoyed daily as they appreciate in value.
This a rare opportunity to own a fine Hamilton timepiece before it disappears into someone's prized, private collection. This is an incredible investment in a spectacular and timeless Hamilton “Barton” watch.

Payment Information
I will accept PayPal ONLY for this auction, unless YOU request other payment methods. Any other payment method must be agreed upon
PRIOR TO
placing any bid on my auctions.
Payment made by Paypal is expected within 24 hours, unless other arrangements have been made PRIOR TO placing a bid on items. If you are going to place a bid and are planning on paying via Paypal then please be prepared to pay immediately or at least within 24 hours. It is simply unfair to make the seller wait for payment, especially when he is going to be paying a significant fee for the privilege of allowing you to pay via this method.
Ebay's Unpaid Item Assistant
Two days after winning item, Ebay's Unpaid Item assistant will automatically open an 'Unpaid Item Claim.' It is important that the buyer adheres to Ebay's time limits at that point for making timely payment.
Terms and Conditions
All bids must be received through normal online trading processes established by eBay. I do not and will not reveal reserve auction prices, so please do not ask. Attempts to discover my reserve by placing a high bid and then retracting it, claiming you made an error, will be immediately reported to eBay and will result in your ID being permanently blocked from bidding on all of our auctions. I do not entertain off eBay attempts to purchase an item during my auctions and will report any such solicitations to eBay.
RETURNS
I do not accept returns, with the exception of the rare circumstance where I have made an error in the listing. An extensive description, to include measurements and photographs, is always provided and the buyer is expected to review that information PRIOR TO placing a bid. Buyers are expected to know their own sizes in an item and are not afforded an opportunity to “try it on” at our expense.
If I have made an error in the listing then you must let me know upon receipt of the item so that I can discuss options to correct the situation for you. NEVER return an item without first obtaining my specific authorization to do so, as no refund will be given in such a circumstance. If I have made a mistake and agree to provide a refund I will pay return shipping, which Ebay does not require.
Bidders will be barred from participating in future a_distinguished_gentleman online auctions for any of the following:
1. Failure to observe
ALL
of the terms and conditions of sale.
2. Failure to complete transaction.
3. Leaving negative feedback.
As my feedback rating suggests, I want you to be happy with this transaction in every way. Unfortunately, as the news suggests, eBay fraud is becoming quite prevalent on both the Selling and Buying ends. I do not want to be a victim and I want my customers to be happy with the transaction. For this reason, the terms and conditions of this sale are laid out up front, for my protection and YOURS.
Failure to complete this auction and abide by all of its terms will result in a non-paying bidder alert being filed with eBay and possible civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Thank you for your interest. Please be sure to look at my other auctions as I post new items often. Proud father of a United States Marine and Iraqi War Veteran. Semper Fi
